ABOUT ELCR’s CONSERVATION
PARTNERS PROGRAM
The Conservation Partners Program is a national membership program for organizations. The Partners and their members play a critical role in ELCR’s mission to educate horsemen across the country about the immediate need to conserve land for equine-related activity. Our Partners are conservation minded organizations ranging from trail groups to national breed and discipline organizations, to land conservancies, government agencies and beyond. The diversity of groups includes breed associations & registries; racing, competition and discipline associations; equestrian parks and facilities (public & private); land trusts; recreational riding and driving organizations; media companies; government agencies; and equine & equestrian retail and wholesale companies. As an individual, you can participate in Conservation Partner membership by encouraging your organization, club, agency or company to become a Partner. We can also direct you to member organizations in your area.
The triple strengths of the Conservation Partners program are its:
- Grassroots outreach
- Networking opportunities amongst like-minded people
- Availability of and access to information and educational resources
ELCR Conservation Partners are on the ground, actively working on equine land conservation in their communities. Our collective commitment is to saving land for horses locally though advocacy and sharing of information. All land is saved locally; and ELCR and its Partners are here to help and support you in your community.
The program has experience tremendous growth in recent years – over 40% with a “reach” to over 1.1 million horsemen.
As a Partner, your group will become part of a national network of equine owners and enthusiasts through a variety of communications and information exchanges including: paper and e-newsletters, the Conservation Partners List Serve, informational emails, and conference calls. The Partners combined experience and knowledge can help jump start your group’s efforts - putting you on the road to success that much faster!
The most important benefit to being a member of the Conservation Partners Program is that you are doing something about saving land for horses in your community. At ELCR, we are actively involved in helping preserve over 100,000 acres of land a year for direct horse activities, pastures, farms, and trails. This would not be possible without the involvement of our Partners, who are the heart and soul of a growing movement that recognizes the time has come to act to protect land for equine use for all time.
